This has to be one of my favourite photos.

I took it one evening when my boyfriend and I made a trip to our local dam to enjoy the sunset over the mountains.
To me this image reflects a lot of aspects of my life, the main ones being:

My boyfriend; he is the light of my life and the most beautiful thing for me to see every day.

My home; the mountains in the background are so familiar to me, when I see them I know I’m home.
I’m so privileged to live in such a nice city in one of the best countries in the world.

My life; to me this image is a message of hope.  Even in the darkness there is always light, warmth and hope.

I thought today I would upload some of the photos I’ve taken over the past year or so since I got my 550D.

I set myself another photography challenge today, and that was to go out into the backyard after work and get some nice shots.

This was quite difficult because for starters, my backyard is not a pretty sight, and I didn’t finish work until 4:45 so by the time I got home the sun was very close to setting.  My backyard is surrounded by trees so I had about 15 – 20 minutes to get some nice photos (I was aiming for about 6, like last time).

Critiques and suggestions would be appreciated.
