First weekend getaway.
My weekend was AWESOME, not to mention oh-so-romantic.
It began with a trip to the Pancake Manor with Gavin on Friday evening to celebrate the birthday of a friend of ours. I got to meet our friends’ girlfriend and had an absolute ball. When we first arrived we were waiting around for a while for their other friends to arrive, but unfortunately they never showed up. While we waited we had the opportunity to talk and get to know each other better. They must have liked me because they invited Gavin and I to stay at their place down the coast for Saturday night. The food at the Pancake Manor was amazing, as it always is. It’s fast becoming one of my favourite places to eat, and it’s open 24 hours!
We took our friends (their names are Jeff and Amy by the way) up on their offer to stay at their place for the night and yesterday morning we took the 2 hour drive to the border of our neighbouring state, New South Wales, where they live in Tweed Heads. Our friend’s girlfriends’ brother was having a 50’s themed birthday party last night which we went along to as well. I got my hair and make-up done before the party and even I thought it looked really good! We got quite a few photos so I’ll make sure I post them too.
Today we got up and had the best breakfast; bacon, eggs, toast, hash browns, sausage. Super greasy breakfast is always a treat. After breakfast Jeff and Amy took us down to see the beaches near their unit. I was in shock, the beaches are so stunningly beautiful down there and they’re only a short walk away from where Jeff and Amy live. I’ve never seen a beach so clean, so pure. I’d love to live in a place like that, so much so I think I will look into moving down there for a few years after I finish my university degree, or even earlier.
I started playing through the StarCraft campaigns again, in preparation for when I get to play with my brother and sister. It’s going to be so good. I hope Gavin plays it with me too, since his computer is here and everything. HINT HINT.
Right now I’m eating an interesting salad my sister made. It contains some kind of leaves, cherry tomatos, cheese and oysters. It’s strangely delicious.
