Sexy pokemon boots.
I don’t want this to be a whinge-fest, but it’s going to be, unfortunately. I just can’t believe how much is going wrong for me right now.
I’ve been having nightmares again, so I haven’t been sleeping well. Last night was the first decent night’s sleep in a while, and even then I woke up halfway through the night and couldn’t stop coughing. I’m surprised I didn’t wake Gavin up.
I’ve had this horrible cough for days. I think it’s safe to say it’s a result of the sinus (or whatever it was) infection I had. I probably caught it at Big Day Out last Sunday.
I also got really badly sunburnt at Big Day Out , despite putting sun cream on. It was such a hot day that they had hoses spraying water out over the crowds to keep everyone cool, so I think all the sun cream was washed off. On Wednesday my back was covered in blisters and a few days ago it started peeling. It’s really quite disgusting. Big Day Out was awesome though, so it was worth it anyway.
If you’d like a preview of what Big Day Out was like, there are a lot of pretty good clips on YouTube of different bands and stuff. Muse was by far the best, though. Here is a decent clip of them singing Stockholme Syndrome – Keep in mind I was up the front, just in front of the bigger screen on the right, which was also where the EPICALLY HUGE speakers were. They played great songs. I could feel the bass shaking every part of my body. Delicious.
Unfortunately dermatitis has come up on my hands and scalp again, probably from stress.
A couple of days ago a big cut appeared on the inside of my gum (the side that’s under my tongue). I suspect there may be a loose piece of bone under there (from when I had my wisdom teeth removed last year) that’s cutting through my gum. I’ll have to go to the dentist to get it checked out if it doesn’t heal up. I hope this cough goes away before then. I don’t want to be coughing in the dentists face… it must be pretty gross being a dentist sometimes.
I’ve made countless attempts to retrieve my old mobile number, I still haven’t been successful. It’s getting to a ridiculously frustrating level now. I went as far as to submit a complaint to my phone company – Virgin – and I will definitely be posting my story on a few forums, although I won’t tell it here now. It’s definitely getting its’ own rant.
Despite looking for a job, I can’t apply for anything until I get my number back because it’s my only direct point of contact apart from e-mail and I’m pretty sure employers aren’t going to contact me over the internet. Not having a job and not attending university is giving me a sense of worthlessness and I feel really pathetic depending on my parents while I’m an adult. I’m so financially strained at the moment too; it’s a terribly stressful situation.
Thursday was a good day. I spent the morning cleaning Gavin’s car from top to bottom. As a thankyou gift he took me out for dinner and then he bought me a pair of very expensive, leather, thigh-high, stiletto, Mollini boots I’ve had both my eyes on for a few weeks (I’m a lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky girl!!! >.<)
Thursday evening Alex came over and brought with him a Nintendo 64 game I’ve been looking for for years; Pokemon Stadium 2. In most shops it’s worth $60 – $80 but he managed to get it for me for $45 which is great because I think the classic Nintendo 64 games are only going to increase in value now. I found out my Nintendo 64 is worth up to $130.
Saturday morning I woke up feeling really under the weather after a bad nights sleep, luckily I had my wonderful boyfriend there to comfort me and give me sympathy. He got out of bed and while I slept a few more hours he cleaned my house; bathroom, kitchen and lounge room before making a cup of lemsip for me to wake up to. Thank goodness I have one less thing to worry about.
The rest of Saturday, Alex, Lynnette, Gavin, Nicki and I spent with Emma. We hung out at her house for a while and had lunch at a nice cafe before it was time to travel to the airport to say our “See you laters.” It was truly heartbreaking to witness. Emma told us she was nervous and wasn’t ready to leave yet. Everyone knew I would be upset so all their eyes were on me. I couldn’t look at her for fear of bursting into tears, which I did as I watched her walking to the gate. I hope I get to go see her in New Zealand this year, but oh, here comes the money issue again…
I’ve been really snappy. I’m finding it increasingly difficult to trust people, whether they are friends or family, and I’m not exactly sure why. This, in turn, makes me feel very alone, especially since I keep a lot of my troubles to myself. I’m very good at putting forward a happy persona when it’s just not how I’m feeling.
I know it doesn’t seem all bad but it’s been a pretty rocky road and I just wish life would cut me a break at the moment.
The only thing I can really do is harden up and keep pushing forward; wait for my health to improve, see the dentist, sort out my phone number and then apply for jobs. It’s important to focus on the positives, and I’ve definitely had a few days this week where I’ve been spoilt by my loved ones.
On a better note, Gavin spent this afternoon teaching me how to play Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3 and I really enjoyed it. After a couple of failed games I managed to grasp the concept and got the ball rolling. There was one point in the game that made me laugh…
Gavin: “How are you going over there?”
Computer: “Your enemy has been defeated.” (By yours truly!)
Jayne: “Yeah, pretty good.”
Gavin: “Oh, nice work.”
I also had a game with Gavin and Fen from Pants Party. I think the boys found my noobness highly amusing.
Jayne: “Oh, look! There’s a cute puppy in my base!”
Gavin: “He’s not on our team…”
Jayne: “Oh, what? Crap.”
Check out my awesome shirt. Thank YOU SplitReason!
Yes, that is a bacon sticker on my head.

City bug perverts.
Last night was fantastic. I ended up going into the city with Alex and Lynnette to meet up with some of Alex’s friends, all of whom turned out to be fantastic people. They’re all going to Big Day Out so it’s going to be an awesome trip to the Gold Coast.
So anyway, we’re sitting at a table in a bar, having a few drinks and a few laughs when this old guy sitting behind us (maybe about 50 years old?) decides to join us. We all recognised his intentions immediately as he actually tried to move between Lynnette and I, and we were already sitting quite close together. We were the only 19 year old girls at the table. He put his arm between us and turned to stare at me with glazed eyes. “Mind if I join you guys? My mates over there won’t drink with me.” We turned to see a group of perverted, old men smirking at the table behind us. Thank goodness the gentlemen on either side of Lynnette and I offered to swap seats to get us away from this creep, and they dealt with him from there.
From there on our night was fairly uneventful. Lynnette and I got up to dance with Alex’s friends a few times, had an incredible time. We felt like total fools and loved every minute of it. Gavin coincidentally was in the city the same night and left the group he was with to join mine, which was really lovely. He was there to witness Lynnette and I skull a delicious cocktail each (Midori Splice), before getting a brain freeze and realising how expensive it was. Haha. We also got photos of us in Krispy Kreme hats, oh it was so funny sitting in a bar wearing it. We took photos, I’ll upload them when I get them and if I remember to.
I had another guy approach me on the dance floor but I sort of gave him the cold shoulder. I feel bad, but I had had enough of perverted guys for one evening and I didn’t want to take the risk of him being another one. He may have been perfectly nice, he looked nice but I just wanted to chill out. In hindsight I probably should have acknowledged him, just for the hell of it. Why not? Next time!
Yep, I’ve become a city bug!
Today was fairly casual. Gavin, Nicki and Eevari came around to hang out for a while. We watched Card Captors and played some Nintendo 64 and Team Fortress 2. Eevari stole 3 of my Team Fortress 2 achievements, damnit!
Oh, by the way, I got some photos of Gavin and I from our little trip into the city for the chocolate buffet. Enjoy.

Racing partner and Ford Cobra GT write off.
Yesterday was one of the best days I’ve had in a very long time. I had to get up at 6:30am after not sleeping well the night before, but it was well worth it. It was a beautiful day. My day started with getting ready to go to Lakeside raceway with Dad and his car club, to watch some old cars and motorbikes race. Dad decided to take his Chrysler AP5 Valiant. My brother, John, and his fiancé, Nicole, are both in the car club too and I was really happy to see them both.
John had the package from ThinkGeek for me containing my ‘dark slinky’ and ‘42 towel’ that I’ve mentioned before. Both of them are great! I’m very impressed with the quality of both of them.
When we first arrived at the racetrack we learnt that our cars would be on display, parked in the middle of the race track. What a bonus! We were literally right in the middle of the action.
After the cars had been parked in the display area and we set up our shadey-tent, Dad and I had a go in a V8 simulator, or ‘stimulator’ as Dad was calling it all day, which everyone found amusing. Haha. It was a lot of fun. I kept thinking about how much I’d love to have a ride in a car on a racetrack; or even drive one myself.
On our way back to the area where we were sitting with my brother we stopped in to get some stuff out of the Valiant, and sitting on the front seat of the car was an award for ‘Best Chrysler.’ Dad was stoked; he said it’s the first award the Valiant has ever received. John took a photo of Dad and I with the Valiant and the trophy, so I’ll post that when I get it off John.
After this we learnt that the cars on display would do a ‘Show and Shine,’ which is basically a parade run around the racetrack. I was so excited to learn I’d get a ride on the racetrack, even if it was just a parade run. We were then told that while the first lap would be slow, we’d have 20 minutes afterwards to do as we wish on the racetrack. For those of you who don’t know, my Dad used to race cars.
This was definitely the highlight of my day. We set out as the 3rd car on the track, my brother behind us; however we overtook the 2nd car to line up with the 1st so that there were two lanes of cars. The first lap was great, cruising in the Valiant with the window down, wind in my hair and everyone admiring the beauty of the old cars. This is the Valiant in its prime.
We turned the corner to the straight and there was a man in uniform there waving us on. This was the moment Dad had been waiting for. He floored it and we came out way in front, after reaching 120km/hr. He obviously hasn’t lost touch with his racing skills. We ended up coming up behind the pack of cars we had been leading before they even finished their 1st lap and overtook them all; coming out in front again. Second lap, same thing, overtook everyone.
Up behind us came a brand new Ford GT Cobra (picture below), worth about $80,000 driven by a young guy who obviously thought he could take the old guy in the Valiant. He overtook us on the corner and began to drift. I saw his break lights come on – BIG mistake. If you ever drift in your car, do NOT hit the brakes. Go with it. He lost control and slammed head first into a barrier while still doing 80km/hr or more, the force spinning their car to face us. Dad slammed on the breaks in case the Ford shot back onto the track after being spun around, luckily it didn’t. Since the car was spun around we could see the full extent of the damage which was really horrific, but we could also see that the two people inside were okay. The metal barrier was the same shape as the front of the car. Dad found out today that the car has been written off because there was about $40,000 worth of damage and insurance wouldn’t cover it because it was on a racetrack. Now he calls me his ‘racing partner.’ Hahaha.

Ford FPV GT Cobra.
Definitely a story to tell my children and grandchildren.
Also my speed capped was lifted and Liam was away for the night so I was able to relax and spend some time with Alan, Lynnette and Nicki watching youtube and playing Nintendo 64.
At the moment I feel like crap because tomorrow is the 22nd. Whatever. I don’t want to talk about it right now. Maybe later.
