Scattered city.

I feel quite lost for words at the moment and my thoughts are very scattered, so don’t expect me to make a whole lot of sense.

The past week has mostly involved games, shopping, get-togethers, job hunting and soul discovering.

Over the past few weeks I have acquired quite a few new games, thanks to the epic Steam Christmas sales.  Also thanks to Gavin for buying me some of my new games <3.  My spare time has been spent getting to know them better (especially Unreal Tournament); however ‘spare time’ has been a rare luxury.

Mind you, I love spending time with my friends and I will continue to do so as much as possible before Emma goes back home to New Zealand.  Some days we spend just shopping or hanging out at home together, and other days we’ll invite everyone to come together and talk, swim, play games and drink together.

Our most common topic of conversation would have to be Monique and how much she is missing out on simply by avoiding me (which as you know, is not my fault).  It’s just a combination of irritating people and a series of unfortunate events.

I spent today sulking and whinging about being sore from head to toe.  Last night I went into the city with a few friends for a ladies night on the town.  It was my first time clubbing and my god, it was incredible.  I don’t exactly remember the details of how we got to the club, but I remember once we got there I had the time of my life.  We danced for hours and then ate the most amazing tasting sausage rolls.  Oh yes, it was a night I will not forget.

The whole job hunting thing is stressing me out.  I’ve decided to defer university but I just feel like I’m wasting time.  At the same time, I don’t know if I’ll go back or drop out completely.  I don’t want it to look like I’ve given up because it was too hard, because that’s not the case at all.  I feel really bad for always bringing the topic up with my friends, because they either don’t know what to say or just tell me the same thing.  I’m looking for the answer but I need to find it in myself.

If I defer I have another 6 – 12 months to decide whether or not to go back into psychology or do something else, anyway.  I guess that is a big benefit.

I’ve had a (so far) mild case of insomnia again.  I think it started because I began to have nightmares again after New Year’s Eve.  They would have been triggered by a combination of things, including a really loud bang I heard while sitting in the backyard that frightened me.

Beware, I’m going to talk about “women’s things” to finish off – yes, Don, this warning is for you.

I find it interesting that all my friends monthly cycles synchronised to mine.  I find it even more interesting that all the men we’ve been spending a lot of time with have become very ‘pissy’.  One has even said to me that he has been very moody and he doesn’t understand why.  I told him he has PMS, which went down surprisingly well.  It seems there is evidence to support that women’s bodies synchronise, but I’m wondering it’s possible for men to ‘synchronise’ too… if you know what I mean?

Anyway, I should really try and sleep. Wish me luck! :)

Hellishly bodacious Hello Kitty.

What have I been doing?

I can’t remember! I need to start writing these things down.

Oh yes. Tuesday I spent the day cleaning, and in the evening I’m pretty sure I went to Gavin’s to watch The Matrix and The Matrix Reloaded.  There had been a storm in the afternoon, for some reason storms put me in the mood for matrix style movies. I don’t know, I’m weird, okay? Haha.

Wednesday afternoon Gavin took me to meet some of his friends at a place in the city. We had a few drinks and played pool. I failed so badly, but it was fun.  It was an awesome place, I’m looking forward to going back there and hopefully doing better at pool, plus drinks were cheaper there than they are in other places.

Today I got up earlier and went over to my sisters’ place to spend some time with her and her daughter.  As I left she gave me a hug and a kiss which was a very pleasant surprise. My day certainly started out well, and only got better!

After visiting my sister, Monique and I went on incredibly-crazy-happy-fun-times adventures.  These adventures included getting a tyre changed and shopping! Oh, so much shopping.  Our shopping adventure isn’t even over yet.  Okay, so I was trying on this pair of black, slip-on shoes and they fit perfectly so I took them to the counter. The lady at the counter told me they had a 2 for $25 sale, so I grab a red pair in the same size. When I got home I realised that while the red pair say they’re the same size as the black ones, they’re actually a few sizes bigger. Moral of the story is always check the size of the shoe! Luckily I can exchange them, so I’ll do that sometime soon.  I also bought 2 dresses, one is a $109.95 cocktail dress marked down to $10; I kid you not! Bargain! Oh yes, I got a cute Hello Kitty bag too. Mew.

Tonight I was fortunate enough to receive pool lessons from Eevari and Alex while Gavin installed Starcraft Battle Chest for me as a surprise for when I got home.  Such a sweetie!  Next time I play pool in the city I’ll surprise them all with my new found skills, thanks to Alex.

I played some Left 4 Dead today, which kind of surprised my gaming friends because I told them I wouldn’t be playing it again.  I remembered all the reasons why I enjoy playing it though so I think I’ll get back into it.  Left 4 Dead 2 and Borderlands are in my Steam list ready to download; I’m so excited.  It’s only a few weeks until they’re released.

You know what words are good words? Hellishly and bodacious. Alex just said them to me and I thought to myself, “… Those are noteworthy words.”  Yep.  So I stole them.

Time for a shower. I got a 14 day free trial of World of Warcraft so I feel dirty.

Master ninja shenanigans.

I had a very interesting weekend.  Saturday night was Liam’s grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary party.  Liam and I managed to get up to mischief (we have photo evidence); just little things like swapping our name tags.  Some of the old ladies there would actually have been cranky with us if they caught us with the wrong ones, so it totally counts as mischief!  Haha.

It was a beautiful night complimented with great food and entertainment.  I may or may not have cried when Liam’s grandparents got up to dance together.  It was lovely, but my tears were a mixture of inspiration and sadness.  I felt sad because a few of Liam’s family have been going through a rough time lately, not to mention Liam and I not knowing where our relationship is going at the moment.  We’ll see where the future takes us though.

Sunday night I was planning to go to a BBQ at Liam’s brothers’ house with his family for father’s day, but decided against going for reasons I can not disclose.  Instead I invited Nicki and Lynnette over, and we ended up doing all sorts of crazy shenanigans.  We started by watching movies on evolution and monkeys, which somehow lead to practising and recording para para.  We even started learning a new dance that I don’t know the name of, but you can see it here.  It’s rather difficult, we’re way too unfit to be able to pull off some of the moves yet, haha.  I then sat back to watch Nicki and Lynnette pull everything out of my bookcase and DVD case in order to build a small staircase for my baby Slinky.

That reminds me!  My darling brother, John, has ordered a collector’s edition Dark Slinky and a 42 Utility Towel from www.thinkgeek.com.  Can’t wait for them to arrive.  Thank you so much John!  Totally made my week!

HA!  This just in!  Some Italian guy just added me on Steam, blatently hitting on me.  Seriously.  I thoroughly enjoy kicking the asses of guys like this.  To all the guys out there who are even thinking of getting on my nerves, I DON’T TAKE CRAP from anyone, and I will not hesitate to run you over with my little car.

I’m totally a master ninja.
